During the month of July, I decide to participate in Consistency Challenge hosted by Mattie James. This challenge required you to post to your blog Monday thru Friday for 20 days, add a photo/visual, write at least 150 words, and join the FB group to compete for a $1,000 prize. I will admit, I was a little mixed up about the requirements and the start date so I was not posting consistently in the beginning.
I participated in the consistency challenge because I have not been posting on my blog as consistently as I wanted to. I was always worried about having the best content, selecting the most eye-catching pictures, and how it was going to be received. I said FORGET IT! I am going to brainstorm a few topics and go for it!
WOW! I surprised myself with this one! I wrote down so many topics...I created more topics than I needed for the consistency challenge. Once I got into the rhythm of writing there was no stopping me. I learned so much from the interaction of the participants and was able to contact with some phenomenal ladies. I have a whole new appreciation for the people that create content every day, the beginners who took the leap to get started, and the experienced influencers out there. I salute YOU!
This challenge reminded me that writing is very liberating, and it is a great way to share your thoughts. I also feel more confident about my writing and know that this consistency is preparing me for future writing opportunities. After the challenge is over, I plan to continue to post content consistently for a couple of days a week. Going forward I know how important it is to plan, brainstorm different topics, use a monthly planner, and schedule blog posts ahead of time.
I guess it is true...If it does not challenge you, it won’t change you!
