I recently had the opportunity to attend an event hosted by the International Coach Federation (ICF) of Chicago entitled "Coaching Theories that Shape our Profession". I learned the latest trends in coaching techniques, credentialing programs, and witnessed a live coaching session!
There were (3) panelist representing schools for people who interested in obtaining coaching credentials or continuing education opportunities. Even though, each panelist had different credentials and coaching styles they all gave awesome presentations! While this is still a very young profession, there are over 53,300 professional coaches practicing world wide. As an advocate of professional coaching, I believe anyone at any level or profession can benefit from coaching.
Lastly I was able to meet the ICF Chicago chapter President and several board members, all of whom were very welcoming and knowledgeable. I look forward to attending more ICF Chicago events in the near future, with hopes of joining this organization and making a contribution to the coaching community.
